Tuesday

Hey...free morning...and we're so thankful for a great son-in-law who fixed our internet problem and is now installing new systems on the laptop. Hurray!!
Liam ate about 3/4 of a real banana and squash mixed with a little cereal and 4 oz for lunch.
Raina had watermelon, mac and cheese, and some yogurt. We swam after lunch. Raina says she likes to "peddle". She just pooped A TINY leak in a pull-up and I tried and tried with the potty, but to no avail. She had popsicle and apple after nap and Liam had his bottle and they both watched Little Einsteins.

Monday....sunny day!

Kiddos arrived at about 8:30. Liam had over half a banana in his cereal and seemed very happy with it at about 9:15. He was very business-like about his eating...almost no mess at all.
Raina helped grandma make a cake...actually cracked one egg herself and then got a little worried about the other two, but was a big help, greasing the pan and pouring in the liquid. She played a little hide and go seek with grandpa, but she is funny about it. Always hides in about the same place and is very afraid grandpa will pop out at her, although he never has. But she has a big grin and begs to do it again. Raina is now off to kindermusk (after potty time) and Liam is down for a nap. He had to zoom around in his cart for a while first. He likes to be in on the action!
Kindermusik was very active...many absent. Had oj snack.Mothers were lamenting not being able to get H1n1 for their kids. I think Foothills Pediatric may get more business!
Liam had peas for lunch and just gobbled them down. He also had applesauce, ditto.
Raina had yogurt (ate it all) mac and cheese, milk, popsicle.
We were all exhausted and all of us went to sleep about 2.

Thursday

I took Raina to school and brought her home. Important info is they sent home in a plastic bag her "summer stuff" and want winter wear back (extra clothes...) Also got a place mat for Thanksgiving. We have to remember to take it to J.I. Very cute use of pictures.
She was eating cheerios out of the bag in the car...for lunch had toasted cheese, apple, corn, milk. I don't think she will taste the corn, although if it was on the cob she surely would.
Liam had a half mashed banana and cereal for breakfast and carrots and applesauce at lunch. I think we can just mash a banana every morning. No need to buy the expensive containers. (I think we can buy a pound of bananas for the cost of one container) Brian was here for a while and fixed his wi-fi soit will work.

Wednesday Veterans Day

Success at the doctors!! Both vaccines were in and administered. At first the nurse didn't know what they were supposed to get and so I told her what I thought but waited till she found their charts and read them...I didn't want any mistakes. Raina didn't snuff up very well and worry wart grandpa doesn't think she got enough, but I think it's fine. Liam did his 10 second yell and then was grinning at us. What a guy! Dad paid $10 for administration charge. What a rook! They don't submit to insurance. It's an "administrative fee". We are mad at our doctor about being charged that too. We tried to go to the library but it was closed, so we went to McDonalds and had apple juice and played inside while it rained outside. Liam drank about 6 oz while we were there and is now napping...fell asleep in the car about 10:20. Raina has had bathroom success twice now...very well behaved and grown up. She said she didn't want to go to the doctor, but went quite willingly after saying she didn't want to go. We said we understood...
She ate peanut butter on crackers and apple and milk for lunch; popsicle after nap. Finger crossed: dry so far today (4:45) Just a lovable little girl!!
Liam slept an hour in the morning and about an hour and 15 this afternoon. He had veggies and applesauce for lunch, 6 oz. after nap.

Monday morning

Liam ate real banana this morning! I mashed one up with the back of a ladle and mixed some with his cereal and fed him more after the cereal was gone. He really liked it. I'd say he ate about 3/4 of a banana! So don't buy any more in the cartons...this is fine.
We need more cereal and fruit for the next time we feed breakfast. Tomorrow should be breakfast with Brian (nice alliteration!) as Rick will be taking Raina to school and coming back a little after noon.
Raina said she wasn't hungry, but ate the graham cracker things from her Zaxby's meal last night (they didn't seem real bad on the nutrition info and I figured graham was a good flour) and then ate some oat squares. She will have juice after Kindermusik.
Liam had a good sized bm already this morning and is now napping, down about 10. He ate breakfast a little before 9...indicated he was REALLY hungry.
Raina played with grandpa and went potty all by herself, unasked. She was very grown up.
For lunch Liam had real apple sauce (loved it) and carrots. Raina didn't eat much...tried peas and apple and grilled cheese and milk. She has had about 3 "leaks" today and finally about 2 had a big bm, so hopefully she will start to be cleaned out and able to eat again. I think that Colace stuff on a regular basis may be what she needs until she is straightened out. I feel so sorry for her when she can't get it out...
We can continue to give Liam banana and apple sauce (real) so no need to buy that for us. We'll just do that. So we need rice cereal mostly and just a couple fruits. I think we can start using other canned fruit too, mashed. It would be a lot cheaper. We have a good bit of veggie, so don't need too much more. We do need diapers.

Thursday

I was away all morning, but picked up Raina at school at 12. She was kind of edgy but ate green beans (the last from the garden), applesauce, and grandpa made her a toasted cheese sandwich and she ate really well. Liam was out of sorts...rash on tummy looked bright red so we put some hydrocorsosol? cream on it and it's much better. Got his H1N1 at 1:30. Only nurses there and I commented on his stuffiness and she said he was big enough for benadryl every 6-8 hours and she thought that would dry him up some. I also thought it might work for tummy rash. They charged me $10 because the stuff is free from the government but they charge to give it...paperwork, nurse, etc. I paid them so you're all set. They said they don't put it through to insurance. The kids swang outside for a while and went down to nap about 2:30.Up at 3:30 and 4--popsicle and cuddles.

Wednesday

Cranky Liam arrived...I've never seen him not smile upon coming in the door... I went through diaper, etc. and decided he was acting hungry, so fed him rice cereal, a whole thing of bananas and his 4 oz. which he devoured in record time at about 8:35. Now he's in his cart and decidedly happier, but not all the way. Raina ate a couple oat squares and some juice. That girl just doesn't like breakfast. We offerred about everything in the kitchen to no avail. Grandma has to go to the Westminster book fair now...worried about where to park, and leaving grandpa alone on a Wednesday, but things will go well...
Book Fair was great...I bought a book to donate to Raina's class, with her name on it, so she'll probably get a thank you note. I also bought some Christmas presents...of course! Met some nice mothers and talked teachers, toilet training, and birth dates. Grandpa must be out on an adventure because I can't find him!! or the kids...
OK They are back. Raina had a waffle at Pete's. This is the day that he gives a percentage to the Lions club (1st Wed. of the month) so he took the kids. Raina played with a couple kids and Liam ate there in a high chair. They went down to naps a little before 2. Raina said she would tuck herself in. Hmmm....I wonder what she's really doing in there.....

Tuesday, November 3

Liam arrived about 8:15, with his sister's green sweater on...he loves it too! and wouldn't let it go, so Dad was OK with that. Liam was a happy baby...played in his little cart and spent a long time on the floor. I got out the big baby fire truck, rattles, telephone and he played with them, pushing them out of grasp and then slithering to them. He didn't exactly crawl, but he covered some ground. Breakfast at 9 was cereal, a whole pot of pears and his bottle. I kept him up till 10 and he fell right asleep. I find that patting him on the back for about a minute or two relaxes him and he goes to sleep better. I plan to wake him up if he doesn't wake himself about 11 or so and then doing a little walk. I want him to sleep more in the afternoon. I'm finding he sleeps about 2 1/2 hours during the day cumulatively, and if he does 2 hours in the morning, he's real fidgety and jumpy in the afternoon and hardly sleeps at all. And I figure we're going for doing away with the morning nap.
Liam went outside with me while I finished planting the daffodil bulbs and then we sat on the porch together. For lunch, a whole berry pot, turkey and sweet potato combo (all) and his bottle. He seemed hungry but waited till 12:30 like a good guy. Down for nap at 2:15. He's been on his tummy a lot this afternoon and wiggles around quite well. Two bm's.
Speaking of which, little miss Raina has had two today also. in her pants, of course. She had peanut butter on bagel and apple and juice for lunch. Talked about her snack at school. Didn't seem that interested. Down for nap at 2:15 also, as are grandma and grandpa.

Monday morning

Well, everyone arrived in fine fettle. But, alas, little girl didn't like our breakfast. She ate about one spoonful of oatmeal with raisins and about a half a piece of grandma's homemade toast and a few cheerios and oj. Liam ate a whole banana thing and some of the oatmeal and sucked on some toast. I tried to get him to hang on to it, but he just do it. He did do some major sucking damage to a piece of toast, though. He also had his 4 oz. He laid down about 9:45. Grandpa did some awesome work keeping him happy till then. We'll try to get him back more on his original schedule. Raina was a piece of work for a while. She whined and wanted a popsicle and told me no when I said popsicles at grandma's house are for after nap time. She was pouty and so forth for a little while and I figured she was bored, even though she had helped grandpa sweep the floor, played a little Candyland and got out her drum and house. She demanded "my show" but instead we went on to some of the computer games. She did a great job clicking and dragging in several Sesame Street sites and regained her normal good humor. She is getting very good at manipulating the mouse, and when they said push any key, she said she wanted to push the r for Raina. She went potty without protest and then left with grandpa for Kindermusik.
Kindermusik went very well and Ms. Rosalind says she is ready for the next level next semester. Registering before Christmas gets a price break. I'll look up if it's possible with her school schedule.
Liam slept one hour. Grandpa had the cyst on his back removed and got 12 stitches!! It had gone deep and was in the scar tissue from the last one that was removed there about 5 years ago. Now we have a protocol of wshing and antibiotic, etc. AND he isn't supposed to lift much. So the kids will be doing some scooting with him! Ha, ha.
Anyway, we went to park for a few minutes of swinging and then had lunch. Raina had mac and cheese and apple and popsicle and milk (had juice after kindermusik) Liam and half a chicken and noodle and a whole berry and his bottle. His nose discharge is very thick and he has coughed a couple times. He is just like me!!
Raina and Liam went down for naps about 2. Liam is up at 3:30...
