It was her valentine bag...I asked Ms. Payne because she (Raina) was upset while I was buckling her up. Raina spent over an hour making "dream books" and valentines with grandpa. He's really into the heart bit. Liam traveled all over in cart and crawling. He pulled his "tummy mat" over on himself to get at the mirror better. I wanted a picture that said "when you know the mat is no longer needed". We keep his little toys on it. He also loves to pick up his board books...
Had bananas and oatmeal and apple juice and Raina asked for some cheerios with milk when she saw we were finishing breakfast. Also half a glass of apple juice. Now she and grandpa went out in the sunshine. We may go to Pete's for luch since this is "Lion's Day" Once a month Costas gives 7% of the tab to the club if you mention it at check-out. Poor Liam is really stuffed up and coughs a deep cough, even during nap. He slept a good hour plus and has had some smiles, although he still doesn't feel good. Raina has been all goodness and light...making us all "dream books" with tape and scissors and markers. Haven't the faintest idea where she got the idea...Star and Lucy????
Went potty alone and has been wonderful. Grnadpa and she are leaving shortly for kindermusik and grandma is getting ready for Liam's lunch. Breakfast was apple juice, oatmeal, and applesauce (out of bananas). Lunch will be yogurt and mashed potatoes and veggies with formula.
Liam seemed better after lunch. We rocked a little and he played well. His cought is bad, but loose, which I think is supposed to be good.

Thursday

Liam arrived bright eyed and set in his little moose outfit (so cute) at 8:30. Grandpa was already at school, subbing in math at the high school. Dad took Raina to school, so Liam and I are on our own. We read and played for a little bit. What he really wanted to do was race after Sophie in his cart. He was a tad cranky for laid-back Liam, but ate his almost all banana, 4 oz. of apple juice, and about half and adult portion of oat meal. He didn't seem quite so keen on it today, but maybe it's because I let him eat all his banana first. He and I are going to go up to the church for a little while before picking up sister from school. The ladies want to fawn over him and I have a couple "jobs" to do this week. Since the group has left for Mexico, I'm in charge of changing the banner, putting up the hymns and changing color to green. I'm taking his cart so he can tag along.

Wednesday

Little guy seems a little stuffed up this morning, so we are staying home...Big sister is off to Monkey Jo's with grandpa. It is still too cold out to do much exercise, and we're hoping she'll take a nice nap today with a little excitement in the morning. Yesterday she layed in there for over an hour and I just got her up because it was 4 and I thought we didn't want to go through one of those hard waking scenarios with only a few minutes sleep. She seemed pretty wired.
Anyway, this morning Liam had his oatmeal, apple juice and banana and ate very well. He didn't quite finish his morning bottle, which he brought with him. I think the stuffy nose made drinking a little more difficult. Maybe cutting more teeth??? Sorry I didn't finish yesterday's post...will try to chronicle better so you know what has been eaten, etc.
I'm starting a little routine with Liam where we read stories and play finger games in the morning before his breakfast. He loves those pictures of babies in some of the board books.
Then after breakfast is tummy time. He is playing on the floor at my feet. He's discovered that little plastic guitar thing that plays notes if you hit the buttons and he's tried that with the drumstick...what a musician.
Raina had a good time at M.J. and had a grilled chicken wrap on the way home. Then she ate a lot of strawberries, some peanuts, and a cup of milk. Little guy slept over an hour and was happy both going to sleep and waking up...better than the previous two days when he was crying when he laid down. (for about 5 minutes or less) He had crushed up veggies from some healthy harvest soup and some more yams and his formula. Now he is on the move, tummy wise and trying to get the paper next to the computer. He is so curious about everything~!
Grandpa and Raina are going outside for a bit to ride the bike. Liam and I will probably stay in.

Happy New Year

Raina went happily off with Grandpa to school and Liam has been read too, practiced patty cake, played on his tummy, and had a breakfast of apple juice, one half mashed banana and almost a whole serving of instant oatmeal, flavored with maple and brown sugar. He has had one bowel movement and looks like he might want a nap. He laying on the floor peacefully playing with a yellow drum stick. I think he misses Raina's action. I'm a little boring when I'm not holding him and playing. What do you think about giving up the morning nap? I'd like to take him to story hour on Wednesdays...the baby one...and he would probably only sleep a little in the car. Hurray!!
Liam ate about 3/4 of a real banana and squash mixed with a little cereal and 4 oz for lunch.
Raina had watermelon, mac and cheese, and some yogurt. We swam after lunch. Raina says she likes to "peddle". She just pooped A TINY leak in a pull-up and I tried and tried with the potty, but to no avail. Liam had over half a banana in his cereal and seemed very happy with it at about 9:15. He was very business-like about his eating...almost no mess at all.
Raina helped grandma make a cake...actually cracked one egg herself and then got a little worried about the other two, but was a big help, greasing the pan and pouring in the liquid. She played a little hide and go seek with grandpa, but she is funny about it. Always hides in about the same place and is very afraid grandpa will pop out at her, although he never has. But she has a big grin and begs to do it again. Raina is now off to kindermusk (after potty time) and Liam is down for a nap. He had to zoom around in his cart for a while first. He likes to be in on the action!
Kindermusik was very active...many absent. Had oj snack.Mothers were lamenting not being able to get H1n1 for their kids. I think Foothills Pediatric may get more business!
Liam had peas for lunch and just gobbled them down. He also had applesauce, ditto.
Raina had yogurt (ate it all) mac and cheese, milk, popsicle.
We were all exhausted and all of us went to sleep about 2.

Thursday

I took Raina to school and brought her home. Important info is they sent home in a plastic bag her "summer stuff" and want winter wear back (extra clothes...) Also got a place mat for Thanksgiving. We have to remember to take it to J.I. Very cute use of pictures.
She was eating cheerios out of the bag in the car...for lunch had toasted cheese, apple, corn, milk. I don't think she will taste the corn, although if it was on the cob she surely would.
Liam had a half mashed banana and cereal for breakfast and carrots and applesauce at lunch. I think we can just mash a banana every morning. No need to buy the expensive containers. (I think we can buy a pound of bananas for the cost of one container) Brian was here for a while and fixed his wi-fi soit will work.

Wednesday Veterans Day

Success at the doctors!! Both vaccines were in and administered. At first the nurse didn't know what they were supposed to get and so I told her what I thought but waited till she found their charts and read them...I didn't want any mistakes. Raina didn't snuff up very well and worry wart grandpa doesn't think she got enough, but I think it's fine. Liam did his 10 second yell and then was grinning at us. What a guy! Dad paid $10 for administration charge. What a rook! They don't submit to insurance. It's an "administrative fee". We are mad at our doctor about being charged that too. We tried to go to the library but it was closed, so we went to McDonalds and had apple juice and played inside while it rained outside. Liam drank about 6 oz while we were there and is now napping...fell asleep in the car about 10:20. Raina has had bathroom success twice now...very well behaved and grown up. She said she didn't want to go to the doctor, but went quite willingly after saying she didn't want to go. We said we understood...
She ate peanut butter on crackers and apple and milk for lunch; popsicle after nap. Finger crossed: dry so far today (4:45) Just a lovable little girl!!
Liam slept an hour in the morning and about an hour and 15 this afternoon. He had veggies and applesauce for lunch, 6 oz. after nap.

Monday morning

Liam ate real banana this morning! I mashed one up with the back of a ladle and mixed some with his cereal and fed him more after the cereal was gone. He really liked it. I'd say he ate about 3/4 of a banana! So don't buy any more in the cartons...this is fine.
We need more cereal and fruit for the next time we feed breakfast. Tomorrow should be breakfast with Brian (nice alliteration!) as Rick will be taking Raina to school and coming back a little after noon.
Raina said she wasn't hungry, but ate the graham cracker things from her Zaxby's meal last night (they didn't seem real bad on the nutrition info and I figured graham was a good flour) and then ate some oat squares. She will have juice after Kindermusik.
Liam had a good sized bm already this morning and is now napping, down about 10. He ate breakfast a little before 9...indicated he was REALLY hungry.
Raina played with grandpa and went potty all by herself, unasked. She was very grown up.
For lunch Liam had real apple sauce (loved it) and carrots. Raina didn't eat much...tried peas and apple and grilled cheese and milk. She has had about 3 "leaks" today and finally about 2 had a big bm, so hopefully she will start to be cleaned out and able to eat again. I think that Colace stuff on a regular basis may be what she needs until she is straightened out. I feel so sorry for her when she can't get it out...
We can continue to give Liam banana and apple sauce (real) so no need to buy that for us. We'll just do that. So we need rice cereal mostly and just a couple fruits. I think we can start using other canned fruit too, mashed. It would be a lot cheaper. We have a good bit of veggie, so don't need too much more. We do need diapers.

Thursday

I was away all morning, but picked up Raina at school at 12. She was kind of edgy but ate green beans (the last from the garden), applesauce, and grandpa made her a toasted cheese sandwich and she ate really well. Liam was out of sorts...rash on tummy looked bright red so we put some hydrocorsosol? cream on it and it's much better. Got his H1N1 at 1:30. Only nurses there and I commented on his stuffiness and she said he was big enough for benadryl every 6-8 hours and she thought that would dry him up some. I also thought it might work for tummy rash. They charged me $10 because the stuff is free from the government but they charge to give it...paperwork, nurse, etc. I paid them so you're all set. They said they don't put it through to insurance. The kids swang outside for a while and went down to nap about 2:30.Up at 3:30 and 4--popsicle and cuddles.

Wednesday

Cranky Liam arrived...I've never seen him not smile upon coming in the door... I went through diaper, etc. and decided he was acting hungry, so fed him rice cereal, a whole thing of bananas and his 4 oz. which he devoured in record time at about 8:35. Now he's in his cart and decidedly happier, but not all the way. Raina ate a couple oat squares and some juice. That girl just doesn't like breakfast. We offerred about everything in the kitchen to no avail. Grandma has to go to the Westminster book fair now...worried about where to park, and leaving grandpa alone on a Wednesday, but things will go well...
Book Fair was great...I bought a book to donate to Raina's class, with her name on it, so she'll probably get a thank you note. I also bought some Christmas presents...of course! Met some nice mothers and talked teachers, toilet training, and birth dates. Grandpa must be out on an adventure because I can't find him!! or the kids...
OK They are back. Raina had a waffle at Pete's. This is the day that he gives a percentage to the Lions club (1st Wed. of the month) so he took the kids. Raina played with a couple kids and Liam ate there in a high chair. They went down to naps a little before 2. Raina said she would tuck herself in. Hmmm....I wonder what she's really doing in there.....

Tuesday, November 3

Liam arrived about 8:15, with his sister's green sweater on...he loves it too! and wouldn't let it go, so Dad was OK with that. Liam was a happy baby...played in his little cart and spent a long time on the floor. I got out the big baby fire truck, rattles, telephone and he played with them, pushing them out of grasp and then slithering to them. He didn't exactly crawl, but he covered some ground. Breakfast at 9 was cereal, a whole pot of pears and his bottle. I kept him up till 10 and he fell right asleep. I find that patting him on the back for about a minute or two relaxes him and he goes to sleep better. I plan to wake him up if he doesn't wake himself about 11 or so and then doing a little walk. I want him to sleep more in the afternoon. I'm finding he sleeps about 2 1/2 hours during the day cumulatively, and if he does 2 hours in the morning, he's real fidgety and jumpy in the afternoon and hardly sleeps at all. And I figure we're going for doing away with the morning nap.
Liam went outside with me while I finished planting the daffodil bulbs and then we sat on the porch together. For lunch, a whole berry pot, turkey and sweet potato combo (all) and his bottle. He seemed hungry but waited till 12:30 like a good guy. Down for nap at 2:15. He's been on his tummy a lot this afternoon and wiggles around quite well. Two bm's.
Speaking of which, little miss Raina has had two today also. in her pants, of course. She had peanut butter on bagel and apple and juice for lunch. Talked about her snack at school. Didn't seem that interested. Down for nap at 2:15 also, as are grandma and grandpa.

Monday morning

Well, everyone arrived in fine fettle. But, alas, little girl didn't like our breakfast. She ate about one spoonful of oatmeal with raisins and about a half a piece of grandma's homemade toast and a few cheerios and oj. Liam ate a whole banana thing and some of the oatmeal and sucked on some toast. I tried to get him to hang on to it, but he just do it. He did do some major sucking damage to a piece of toast, though. He also had his 4 oz. He laid down about 9:45. Grandpa did some awesome work keeping him happy till then. We'll try to get him back more on his original schedule. Raina was a piece of work for a while. She whined and wanted a popsicle and told me no when I said popsicles at grandma's house are for after nap time. She was pouty and so forth for a little while and I figured she was bored, even though she had helped grandpa sweep the floor, played a little Candyland and got out her drum and house. She demanded "my show" but instead we went on to some of the computer games. She did a great job clicking and dragging in several Sesame Street sites and regained her normal good humor. She is getting very good at manipulating the mouse, and when they said push any key, she said she wanted to push the r for Raina. She went potty without protest and then left with grandpa for Kindermusik.
Kindermusik went very well and Ms. Rosalind says she is ready for the next level next semester. Registering before Christmas gets a price break. I'll look up if it's possible with her school schedule.
Liam slept one hour. Grandpa had the cyst on his back removed and got 12 stitches!! It had gone deep and was in the scar tissue from the last one that was removed there about 5 years ago. Now we have a protocol of wshing and antibiotic, etc. AND he isn't supposed to lift much. So the kids will be doing some scooting with him! Ha, ha.
Anyway, we went to park for a few minutes of swinging and then had lunch. Raina had mac and cheese and apple and popsicle and milk (had juice after kindermusik) Liam and half a chicken and noodle and a whole berry and his bottle. His nose discharge is very thick and he has coughed a couple times. He is just like me!!
Raina and Liam went down for naps about 2. Liam is up at 3:30...

Thrusday

Grandma went to church this morning and got to pick up Raina who was very excited that they had a Halloween party at school. She got a little bag with m and m's inside and a plastic ring, which she calls her hair band but wears on her finger. Grandpa made her waffles for lunch and she had yogurt and raisins too. Liam ate a big breakfast...a whole thing of bananas with his cereal and for lunch he had a whole thing of carrots and some regular apple sauce that we had. Everyone seems happy and noses not so full. Will put grease around Raina's mouth as it is all chapped. (if she'll let me)

Wednesday sick day

Liam seems in good shape. Ate a robust breakfast of rice cereal and very berry banana and a 4 oz bottle early. He was a little fussy about 8:50 so I went ahead and fed him. He has had tummy time and is now sitting with grandpa. Raina didn't want to eat, but did have about 3 bites of bagel, half a cup of applesauce and a sippy cup of hot chocolate made with milk. We'll push oj in a little while and see if she'll eat a little more. Quiet play and fairly good attitude.
Liam down for nap at about 10:40. Raina has had her oj and watched Little Einsteins. I'm not giving Liam any more of his medicine, since it says once a day only. Will give Raina more of hers in an hour or so. She had one melt down when I wouldn't give her a popsicle. I said it's only for after naps and she tried to get her own and did the lay down thing, then tried to kick me, so she sat in time out for about 2 seconds and it seemed to get things righted around (and she had her juice instead)
Liam zonked until noon, as did grandma since I had trouble sleeping last night (runny nose, etc.) Raina perked up when she and grandpa designed and cut the pumpkin. He is smiling, per her request. Nothing scary here. Then she swung, came in hungry and ate a whole little yogurt, finished her breakfast applesauce and ate the rest of the mac and cheese from yesterday and had OJ again. Now she and grandpa are off on an adventure to buy food for the poor people in Pelzer. Shouldn't take but an hour and she seems much more perky. Has gone potty several time (when cajoled) and seems much more behaved.

Tuesday

Liam arrived about 8:30 sans morning bottle. I had to use that blue suck thing on his nose to get it going, but then he gulped it down ( 6 oz) and he's now happy in his cart. We do need food for him. Does Brian have it in his car? I'll have dad pick up a veggie on the way home from Samaratin House. I have a fruit, but we are out, otherwise.
Don't worry Brian, we'll get it in the morning or tonight...you have a lot on your mind with two semi-sickies on a Tuesday morning.
Liam was so cute after breakfast...we read some books and then he squawked once and I put him down and he fell right to sleep.
Good lunches eaten by both. Raina seemed tired and didn't sleep. She sang and hummed, etc., and Grandpa even went in and told her to stop and sleep but she didn't. She got up very mopey and had her popsicle and some orange juice. For lunch she had yogurt and mac and cheese and milk and apple. Liam had bananas and sweet potatoes. He's a little stuffed, but could drink without any help. Raina had hot chocolate (made with milk) orange juice and a few bites of cereal. She asked for yogurt but only took a bite. She did have her 5 chocolate chips after going to the bathroom. Grandpa and she just left for kindermusik. We debated whether or not she should go (re: infect others) but we are quite sure it's not flu, since she doesn't have other symptoms and should be H1N1 protected since she was immunized 2 weeks ago. When it comes in baby form at the pediatrician, we would gladly drive Liam over. Anyway, Liam had bananas in his rice cereal and a 4 oz bottle about 9:30. He seemed hungry...giving his little yelps beforehand. We had a weird experience...a mixed berry kind of blew up in the pantry, leaking out. He had had the other one in the 2 pack last week and it seemed fine. I'm not sure what happened. Just strange. Raina and I had another game of Candy Land this morning. All the guys hopped along to the end and we high fived when they all got there. She loves the cards and arranging them just so. She also says, "take a card from the top" which I guess we learned our first time out. I love it!!!

Lunch was sweet potatoes and bananas for Liam and 4 oz. of milk. He ate with gusto...I don't think his runny nose has impeded his apetite. Raina was fussy and had watermelon, raisins, yogurt, juice and I don't know what else (grandpa was in charge) She had an accident outside, so I'm washing her clothes. I had put pink sweat pants on under her dress so she'd be warm. Then she pooped in the next diaper. Yuck. She asked if we were happy and we said no, and she said she was happy, so we said good, we like a happy girl. (no punctuation, since I'm free thinking here) I think they will both like their naps this afternoon although Liam got about an hour in this morning while his sister was gone.

Friday

Kiddos are such super people~ Raina ate an extra apple. Liam had cereal with very berry and his 4 oz. He said he wanted more, so I gave him a little water. Lunch is coming soon at 12:15.
We went to the library and had a great time. I think Liam enjoyed it as much as anyone. Raina was a little jealous I fussed with him and ended up sitting in my lap for the last story. This is usually "our" time. She made sure I was up and dancing...I had wanted to sit quietly with Liam. He only slept a little on the way back, waking up as soon as we pulled in the drive. She is having watermelon (her grandpa spoils her!) and left over mac and cheese and a roll and she asked for yogurt. We'll see what she actually eats. Liam is having berry stuff and carrots and bottle. Yum! Then I'm making the squash soup for tonight.

Thursday

Liam arrived about 8:40 and immediately finished his bottle...with relish :) He ate cereal and bananas about 9:30 and had another 4 oz. of formula. He acted disappointed he didn't have more bottle, but was a little put off that I kept trying to give him cereal, but he finished it. He stayed up till about 10:45 and I'll be getting him up to go get sister about 11:30, so we are definitely fazing out the morning siesta. A couple more weeks of shortened naps and then we can go from there. Tomorrow I'm going to try Raina library with him.
Yes, grandpa is teaching math again.
Liam had bananas (the only fruit I had) and sweet potato and corn mix (too thin...we got it all over) and 4 oz bottle. Raina is beautiful in her picture dress and so far won't take it off. She ate a whole little yogurt (mixed berry) and a small bagel with nothing on it. I went over to put peanut butter on it and she had already eaten half. And some mac and cheese and o.j. and now is watching Little Einsteins with her Halloween cup with 4 vanilla wafers inside. Life is good!!!

When a Wednesday is a Monday!

Liam and Raina woke up late and needed breakfast about 8:15 or so. Liam had a 6 oz. bottle immediately. Then at 9:30 he ate applesauce and rice cereal (all the apple sauce) and a 4 oz. bottle followed by some water since he wanted more bottle and I didn't want him getting too much formula. (He needs more fruit for the rest of the week---veggies are fine)
Raina doesn't really like breakfast, I think. She ate some oat squares in milk and licked the peanut butter off a bagel and had a few bites. And some apple juice...and then half an apple, so she's good to go. She and grandpa went potty and then out to get groceries since we are all out...no orange juice for the girl this morning :( Liam and grandma are off to excitement later. Since he slept in, we are going to try Mother Goose on the Loose at the Simpsonville Library. If he sleeps through it, fine, but I think he'll like seeing other baby type people. More on this later!

Liam loved the library...so many babies to laugh at, and I enjoyed them too. He was not the youngest, but of course couldn't "do" anything but I moved him around and he smiled appropriately. He ate sweet potatoes and banana for lunch. Raina had a pot pourri of things including peanuts, bagel, apple, milk...not interested at all in spagghettios, unfortuately. I had thought she might like them. But little miss did not. We are in the process of baking....rising going on while some sleep.

Friday fly day

Liam and Raina arrived about 8:30--Raina has on a darling blue plaid jumper that looks like the uniform at the private schools. Too cute!!! Is she 5 or what?
Liam had had his morning bottle. Gave him breakfast about 9:30. 1/4 cup rice cereal mixed with water and some banana. Also 4 oz. bottle. He went down for nap about 10. Seems in jolly good form!
Raina has played with play doh and now we're going to get out the Dora cards. She had only had juice. She played with a banana and ate a few oat squares. I've left them out for her to return to when she feels hungry for them. She seems a little sluggish today. Pooped once in her pull-ups and then put on underpants and has gone potty alone (and unsuggested) and washed hands. Very proud of herself. She is having a tired day I think. Her dad suggested she nap when she wants. I wonder if she would lay down by herself? I'll take them over about 1 or so for naps.
We are all packed. Had a furnace malfunction at 6 which set off the smoke alarm and a bad smell. The man is coming before noon. We are warm...it is just zone 3. Very complicated system, but he seems competent.
We just played the most hysterical game of Candy Land ever. She wanted all the guys to play, not just the two colors we chose. And everyone had to get to the candy castle. She won easily but didn't get it that SHE won; she wanted all the guys to get there. She sorted through the cards and found the same color as the guy and that's how he went. We finally quit (because it was pointless...) and she said it was really fun. I can see this game thing has a long learning curve. But I like it that everyone has to get to go to candy land, not just a lucky one. Don't we all deserve it?????

Wednesday Rain

late start today...Liam ate peaches and rice cereal (big bowl) and 4 oz. bottle. Raina watched some Little Einsteins and played upstairs with grandma. We played with the animals and drew pumpkin faces. Liam had a hard time going to sleep but was obviously tired. When I picked him up, he shut his eyes...Now he is sleeping and we are waiting for him to wake up so we can go on our adventure to Pete's for lunch. Some good sliding and playing there. We are taking apple. She is drinking a little juice as a morning snack. She went to the bathroom alone and washed her hands. All by herself. That's a key with us...to keep our hands off and let her take her own time. It's hard, but since we have nothing else to do, we can be patient. More later after lunch.
Pete's was great! But, alas, no more children showed up. Raina kept asking where the children were. I guess everyone is in daycare or their parents don't have money for lunch out. So she climbed and slid to her heart's content. We took Liam's little cart and he went around the empty room and had fun. He ate sweetpotato/chicken combo and applesauce. That's a nice fall luncheon. He loved the applesauce, and I think would have like thicker jar stuff. I may mix in a little cereal next time. Now we're waiting for naptime. Oh, Raina ate a waffle and a half. Seems that Pete's waffle order is two plate sized waffles. She said she was hungry and meant it. AND came home and went potty alone. Hurray!!!

another tuesday

I just realized I haven't written in a week. I like to keep this little commentary going to trace our progress. Kids arrived sans breakfast. Raina ate a half a chocolate chip bagel and some oat squares with milk and o.j. Liam downed a 6 oz. bottle. Then at about 9:30 he ate his rice cereal with pears and about 4 oz. more. He seems to love his cereal and bottle. He signals when he wants the bottle...must not like to have his mouth too gummed up with the cereal!!
He went down to nap about 10. Raina played on the computer...moving the mouse herself to navigate the Bob the Builder activities all by herself, including lots of clicking. Good practice! Then while I was feeding Liam, she decided to go see what grandpa was building out back. He knew she might be coming, so I said fine and she let herself out the garage door. Not 5 minutes later (still with Liam in high chair) she returned, naked from the waist down. She said she got wet and would change from her drawer in the bedroom. By the time I got there (and called grandpa to help) she had on new underpants and outer pants, socks, and spare shoes. She said she wanted to keep THESE shoes dry???? It would be interesting to see how she thinks. I'm off now to find the wet clothes, someplace outside.
Raina and I went up to the church to do some errands and take some food to Samaratin House. She was very helpful and good while I talked to Father Bob and she talked to the secretary and drew pumpkin faces for her. She went to the potty before and after our trip. Lunch was peanut butter sandwich, yogurt and peas and an apple. She ate all the apple, most of the sandwich, but not much of the other two at all, informing me she didn't like strawberry yogurt. Go figure~!
Liam ate a whole chicken and vegetables and the rest of his pears.
I'm not sure his coordination would allow use of a sippy by himself. I think he'd still need guidance, but you never know.
Raina is helping grandpa with his building project right now. Then it will be nap...

Tuesday, doctor day

Drank his bottle in a single gulp, sighed and burped. He is now racing around in his cart and talking to me.
Grandpa picked up Raina at school (good day) and went to McDonalds and then to pick those muscadine things at a friend's house. Raina finished her toast and then ate about half a banana. She and grandpa left about 10 after going potty and putting on shoes. Liam was hungry for breakfast a little after 9. He ate rice cereal and a whole bananas dish. I gave him about 3 Tbl. dry, mixed with milk and some of the banana. He also had 4 oz. of milk, which seemed to satisfy him just fine. Down for nap about 9:50. I noticed he has a little rash going on his tummy with two bigger spots that might be bites? I'll look again after nap.
Little girl played with me on the computer a while and drew more pumpkin faces...her new specialty with pen on paper.
Kindermusik was another hit...and Liam slept an hour and a half.
For lunch, Raina ate her weight in watermelon. and had peanut butter and crackers and milk. She asked to take some watermelon home to her mommy and daddy who she said love watermelon!
Liam had a whole carrot and apple mix and half a mixed berries and 4 oz. of formula.
He still has the rash on his tummy. I think it is a "contact" allergy...his bare tummy has been on something that gave it to him. I can't find any rash any place else on him.
Note on doctor's appointment tomorrow. If they won't innoculate him then, just make an appointment and we'll take him for shots. You will want to talk at the check-up, but if he just needs shots later, we can handle that (a special at grandma and grandpa day care!)

Thursday

Grandpa was in charge of Liam this morning. He (Liam) seems to have another cold and is congested. We were so careful with him yesterday, we even took hand sanitizer in with us to use after our flu shots because we were afraid we'd touch something germy. Dad said his first nose discharge was greenish but now it is clear. He ate well, big lunch.
Raina had a good day at school. She couldn't bring her finger painting home because it was still wet, which was a little disturbing to her. No tears or yelling, just a momentary sadness. She has been sweetness and light until 2:15 nap time. She had a giant bm, not very firm, so I guess she's OK. We walked down to the horses after lunch which was fun...and got to walk on the new driveway. Bummer...
Liam was perfect all morning...cereal and mixed berries for breakfast, 1 1/2 hour nap, ride in car to pick up sister from school, lunch of mixed berries and a new treat, apples and carrot mix. Hmm. Didn't sound that great, but he liked it. Ate about 1/2 of it. 6 oz. bottle. BM after lunch.
Now he's in his little cart. Raina had watermelon (her grandpa spoils her) and string cheese and peach yogurt and cookie for dessert and milk. Now it's Dora time before nap.
Raina had a dry diaper before nap but isn't napping. She's serenading the world with her various songs. Liam had the world's biggest bm so I'm washing his shirt.

Monday morning

Wow...didn't realize till now that I missed two days last week...too much excitement around here! Raina's beautiful dress is perfect for her by the way. She ate a little yogurt and some oat squares in milk and had orange juice. The boy finished his bottle and then gobbled down his cereal with pears and his next bottle about 9:40. He went down for nap about 10:20. He was very gentlemanly and laughed when I laid him down and pulled the shades. Grandpa and Raina left for kindermusik about 10 and went out "the back way" since they are tearing things up and a big truck to haul the stuff away is part way down the drive. They have a cutting tool to make precise rectangles and then a forklift takes them to the truck. We all went out and watched a while on the back porch since they started just off the concrete up by the shop. Great fun!! The guy told me it should only take half a day to tear up and the paving crew would come tomorrow. Then we have to stay off of it for a few days.
Onward to lunch. Liam ate a whole sweet potatoes and finished off his breakfast fruit, so he's had two whole canisters today! He laid down about 1:45.
Raina had apple sauce and peanuts and mac and cheese and milk. She has had a hard day on diapers...she won't pee when she sits on the potty. Then she gets up and pees in the diaper. I don't know why or what to do. I just shake my head and change her rather noncomitally. She seems happy with it. (She also says on Friday she's having a birthday party, so go figure what she's thinking.) We put up some Halloween decorations for fun and got out orange plates to eat on. She had fun looking at our old Halloween stuff. She watched one "High 5" and is going to read books after she goes potty with grandpa. Maybe he'll have more luck.

Wednesday Wahoo!

Grandpa decided to make another Wed. fun day and he and Raina are off to Monkey Joes. She showed me how she's going to jump real high! She ate a bowl of oatmeal squares with milk, some raisins and half a banana. Liam finished off the bottle that came with him and then at 9:30 had bananas in his rice cereal and about 5 oz. more bottle. Then he went to sleep about 10.
He got up about 11:30 and played until lunch at 12:15. Raina and grandpa got home after a fun-filled morning. Monkey Joe was actually there! And played on the slides...Raina was a little awed. Grandpa let her eat a Mickey D. chicken wrap on the way home and she ate it ALL. No fries, no book, no box...just a chicken wrap. Then she ate an apple (cored by the machine) and had some milk. And 5 chocolate chips. We are baking after nap. Daddy is here with a big delivery truck. Grandpa and Raina are going to see him and then napping. Liam just laid down at 1:50. More later...
Raina baked cookies and had a popsicle after a 1 1/2 hour nap. She took some home for mom and dad and has a special box for school tomorrow with 12 Dora napkins for the kids. She helped with everything.
She pooped and pooped in diapers....blah.

Tuesday...3 days and counting

Liam arrived about 8:15 and grinned at me and sat in my lap for about a half hour. He didn't want to lay on his mat, but was quite peaceful with me. Then he fell asleep! I didn't want him waking up ravenous, so I fixed a bottle and he drank about 6 oz. and didn't burp well because he was asleep again. He is down now. More later...
He woke up at 10 or so, I changed him and we played a little, and then he went back to sleep until a little after 11. He pooped well and then ate a little after 12. 6 oz. bottle, peaches (one whole) and the rest of his squash from yesterday. He seems fine. Rolled back to front to back twice today.
Raina had applesauce, mac and cheese left over from yesterday and peach yogurt and milk.

Monday, Monday...

Liam was hungry by 9 and ate cereal, mixed berries, and 6 oz. of formula. He about fell asleep in ecstacy while drinking. That boy does enjoy his food! I put him down for nap about 9:30.
Little girl was in a cantankerous mood. Didn't want to eat anything. Finally drank her juice and ate part of a banana and a bite of cereal. I made her great oatmeal with chocolate chips (on our diet because chocolate chips are dark chocolate mono-unsaturated fat or MUFA). She would not even try it! So that was the mood. She wet her diaper (which she hasn't done in weeks) before leaving for Kindermusik. She did try to help grandpa clean with her own mop and put stickers on grandma and watched a little of a show about reading. So all was not bad... She definitely has her endearing side, too!
Raina enjoyed Kindermusik with grandpa and got a piece of cake at the post office's grand opening in Piedmont, next to Fred's. She ate some mac and cheese and yogurt and milk and apple. Very little of the first two. Liam ate all the rest of the mixed berries with gusto and about half a squash and 6 oz. When he woke up from about 1 1/2 hour nap, he had another bottle and then smiled and played. Raina slept about the same amount and watched "high 5" and danced with the dancers.

Library day

Kidsd had GREAT night...not a creature was stirring...Liam slept till a little after 7 and Raina till bout 7:45. Liam seems much better today. Woke up in a good mood. Drank his bottle on the porch with grandma. Then we went swimming. Liam sat on the side in his chair and amused himself while we splashed around. Raina wore her swim diaper and seemed happy that way.
Liam had pears and cereal and ate it all and a 6 oz. bottle about 9:15. Raina and grandma and grandpa had waffles with strawberries and a couple choc. chips on top...yum and in the flat belly cookbook. Orange juice too. Raina has pooped already in her pull-up...sometime she'll get it!!!
We're off to the library now and Liam is getting ready for a morning nap.
Great time at the library...alphabet books and lots of dancing around. Raina was very good!! Went potty and washed hands before lunch nicely. Dora yogurt and peanut butter sandwich.
Liam slept well and ate vegetables and banana stuff and his bottle. Rainy day but fun. Played on the porch...blocks and Liam in his cart. Also a tunnel of sheets.
Both kids have pooped twice. He woke up shortly but was not happy. I cuddled him till about 8:30. We gave him a bottle but didn't try the high chair and food because he was so fussy... just wanted to rest, He slept fitfully from about 9:15-11:30 and I took his temp under his arm and it is OK. I'm getting his lunch ready now. very congested and wants to be held
He ate about a half a pears and his bottle at lunch. Still very congested and fussy. He didn't want his spooned food, although I thought that would be easier on the stuffy nose. I've suctioned his nose many times. He's down for a little nap now.
Raina had a good day at school, Be sure to look in the backpack announcing Open House next week. We stopped to feed Liam cereal and peaches and bottle and then continued to Skytop Orchard. Raina ate most of a big half of a bagel with creamed cheese and about 3/4 of a Dora yogurt, besides additional juice. It was a little drizzly, but we dressed up and had a blast picking a half bushel of cortlands. Then Raina played and played in the little houses and the swings and Liam refused to go to sleep. He talked and talked and looked around and I finally gave up and just sat and played with him. Another baby was there...8 months old...who looked smaller but made the same noises and they kind of grinned at one another. Raina went potty twice quite well in the porta pots there and grandpa thinks she may have pooped a little. Go figure. Liam yelled part of the way home and then fell asleep to the new Kindermusik CD. We ate lunch at home and got down to naps by two. Liam had a large, welled formed BM after his lunch of mostly peaches and bottle. He really wasn't into his mixed veggies, but I think it's because he was tired. Raina had eaten a large part of 3 apples, but managed to eat some cheese, finish her yogurt, have some milk and a popsicle. She was a little dismayed we didn't stop at McDonalds. She was quite articulate in explaining how good the chicken and french fries are. She tried to yell a little when we said no, but then cooperated like a big girl. Disappointments do happen.

Tuesday

Liam, Raina, and Brian arrived early today...about 8 a.m. Everyone was in a good mood. Raina gave me her pack...thanks esp. for the socks...and yes, we were running low on pull ups. She ran around the yard with Sophie for a while and then investigated the shop with her dad before leaving on time for school. Liam and grandma read Goodnight Moon and Maisy Takes a Bath a couple times each. Liam seems to like rhyming sounds. Grandpa departed for Samaratin House and Liam had breakfast--cereal and pears and 6 oz. of formula. He was REALLY ready by a little before 9 and let me know. He almost fell asleep drinking and didn't burp well because he was zonked.
He slept about 2 hours and then got up and played in his little cart. He scooted all the way across the room! Forward!! He had a whole carton of squash and some of banana and 6 oz.
Raina had another "great day" at school. She played outside and went to her locker quietly so as not to wake up the babies. Hmm...

Monday, September 14

Hurray for Mondays!! A new start...kids arrived about 8:20. Raina helped make oatmeal and then wouldn't eat it. So she helped make a cream cheese bagel and ate about 3/4 of a large half and her cup of oj. We found some socks, a little small, but I wondered if they'd want them in stocking feet for Kindermusik (or I guess that was the gym thing, or was it both?) Anyway, she played with her "lovely" kitchen and made soup and tea and then washed the dishes. She went potty like a big girl before leaving with grandpa about 9:50 for Kindermusik.
Liam has quite a nose-ful but has been sucked and wiped and was a happy little guy. He ate his rice cereal with bananas and about 5 or 6 oz. of formula. He had a small, fairly firm bm. He ate at about 9:20 and went down for nap when sister and grandpa left. H rolled over several times on my bed while I was playing with him and actually chuckled when I made noises at him! He may have a runny nose, but he's eating and cheerful so far.
Well...afternoon. Raina had a great time at the class. Yes, they took shoes off, but grandpa said most were barefoot. Grandpa forgot the bag he took and then thought she was in the wrong class. I went over after my board meeting, got the bag and talked to the teacher. She said it was for up to 3 1/2 and that Raina was great in the class. (also grandpa had a good voice...poor grandpa with all the yuppy mothers) She has a bag of things to show you, with books and such.
She had some cheese crackers, grapes, yogurt (ate it all) milk and 3 vanilla wafers for dessert. She was good most of the time for grandpa.
Liam was super until it got close to lunch. He cried a bit of the way from church to home ( we had a problem getting me to my board meeting on time) but then ate up a storm. A whole jar of corn and sweet potatoes and lots of bananas and almost 6 oz. of milk. He is sleeping now. Has woke up and gone back to sleep. Raina is down for her nap.
Raina slept over 2 hours...no bm. Liam had three bm's and slept about 1 1/2 hours and drank his 4 o'clock bottle like he'd never seen food before.

Friday...the basics for the day...
Liam...ate cereal when he got here (nineish) and drank the rest of the bottle plus about 2 oz. more. He slept for about 2 hours. He ate about half a carrots and the rest of his pears (from them mixed with cereal in the a.m.) and about 6 oz. of formula. He stayed awake in the shade while we swam and went down to nap at 2. No b.m. yet.
Raina...went to the library for story hour and loved the dancing part. She claps and turns and swings with real rhythm. She played on the computers, manipulating the mouse to click when the page was to turn on the story she looked at. She was quite enthralled. We read several books together and she played with some toys and then had o.j. and came home. Twice went potty well. Once pooped in diaper...loose! Ate a lot for lunch...watermelon, mac and cheese, milk, vanilla wafers. She seemed hungry for once! She loved swimming (as we did) ;although it was a tad chilly, it was still good. She went down for nap about 2.

Wednesday...everyone arrived shortly after 8. Liam greedily sucked down his bottle. Raina, on the other hand, was offered a variety of cereals, chose oat squares and then ate about 4. She drank a full glass of orange juice, but wouldn't eat anything else. Even made her grandpa pare an apple and then ignored it. She was a little grouchy, but used the potty and left to play at the zoo with grandpa. Hopefully she will be in a little better mood (and not demanding "my show now"). Liam asked for breakfast early and fell asleep during his bottle. Ate a lot of cereal mixed with pears and then a whole 6 or 7 oz.
Liam got up about 11:30. He had drooled a lot while asleep and seemed warm to me. He wanted lunch soon, so he ate early. He had almost a whole carton of squash and the rest of his pears and 6-7 oz. Then he fell asleep sitting up in grandpa's lap! I put him down about 1:30. He doesn't seem just right...I don't think he has a fever, but he just seems out of sorts and overly tired.
Raina and grandpa had a great time at the zoo. There was no program today ( I don't know how I messed up) but they saw everything and grandpa said it was better than a program because hardly anyone was there. They stopped on the way home to stock up on what Raina will eat. She ate a whole DORA yogurt, cheesey crackers and a banana and milk for lunch. Then she had a cookie. She almost pooped in the potty...actually went in the bathroom and then pooped in her pants. Weird. She almost made it!!!! Now she is reading in bed.

Tuesday

Liam arrived happy and drinking his morning bottle about 8:20. He finished most of it and then flirted with the grandparents before laying on his little mat. He turned over both ways and then got tired of that and went to his car/chair. He pushes himself into corners and then yells for help. He likes to get in front of the TV. Turning it off so as not to ruin his eyes.
At about 9:30 he ate his cereal with strained peaches and his bottle...almost fell asleep drinking! I changed him and put a little grease on his chin... he seems to have rubbed it a little (looks like rug burn) He fell right asleep...guess the big weekend wore him out too!
Liam slept almost two hours. Lunch at 12:30 was a whole carton of carrots, peaches and about 5 oz. of his bottle (we don't push it if he seems done). He rode around in his car thing while we all watched Little Einsteins for a half hour.
Raina came home happily from day 2. She made a ladybug. It has her name on it...she says that it says "Raina had a great day" so things must be good. She talked about the slide at playground and said Ms. Payne told her to use the stairs and not climb up the slide. She also said they had circle time and sang Old Mcdonald. She seems very happy about school although doesn't say much. She ate peanut butter on crackers, half a banana, apple sauce, milk and a cookie. Also some scraps of mozzarella cheese because we were eating it and she thought it looked fun.
Down for naps at 2 (so grandma and grandpa can get a 15 minute nap too!!) Just prior to laying down she had a big poop (hurray, I guess) so she is better that way and didn't poop at school.
Both slept about an hour and a half. Liam had a 4 o'clock bottle. Raina pooped again in her diaper, but used the potty all the rest of the time. Raina had a snack of juice and a popsicle. Now we are thinking about going outside to wait for mom.

Hey, Thursday! "Raina had a great day!" is what her smiley face said in her backpack. She seems happy but tired. The only thing she really said she did was play on the playground. The car pool line is a hoot. Everyone lined up and the teachers check the numbers and then bring them out one by one. I was early so I was third in line so she didn't have to wait long. The fun part was being a contortionist and buckling her in from the front seat.
Liam was great this morning for grandpa. Ate a lot of cereal and then slept for 2 1/2 hours. He ate some chicken stuff for lunch with his fruit and has been on his tummy (and rolled) and is in his little cart now. Raina likes to roll him around and he seems to like it too. Added bonus of having them together here is that they get to be together. He really responds to her!
We are going to walk soon I think. Uncle Tom called in the middle of lunch and Raina didn't eat much...a few strawberries, milk, and a half a pb sandwhich. Grandpa had made her noodles with butter and peas but she wouldn't touch them. Oh, well. Grandpa is in there trying to get her to poop. Ha, ha. My hairdresser said her mother set the three year old on the potty one morning and wouldn't let her off till she pooped and then gave her a full sized Hershey bar. I don't think we want to go there. I think it will come eventually when we least expect it.
Oh, cousin Frost is 25th percentile weight and 3rd for height at one month. Grow Frost, grow.
This blogging thing is fun!!!

Today is Wed. 9/2...Got the kids to our house about 9 and fed Liam cereal and bottle. He really didn't like his cereal today, so only ate about 6 mouthfuls. He loved his bottle, though. Napped about 1 1/2 hours while Raina and grandma went shopping at Food Lion. What a great helper!!! She also pointed out things that she wanted as birthday presents...markers, hair bands, etc. She ate some chocolate chip bagel and hot chocolate this morning. Lunch was pears and mixed veggies for Liam and he gobbled them down. Along with his bottle. Then he played in his chair thing and we went out for a little walk around the warehouse while Raina swang and played in the tree house. She ate half a banana and some quesadilla and some muskmelon and milk. Down for naps at 2.

OK 9/1 is not as fun. It started out fine...we fed both kiddos breakfast about 8 or a little after. Liam ate a big bowl of his stuff with bananas for flavoring. Raina had cheerios and a banana and a few raisins. Liam's bottle was 7 oz. Then we all went for a walk to see the horses. All went well! Then Liam went down for a nap and Grandma went to knit. Well, I guess Liam woke up early and demanded to be fed about 11 and Raina wanted lunch and Grandpa had a few hard minutes. Now all is well and Liam had almost a whole turkey thing and the rest of his bananas and about 6 oz. of bottle (he chose not to finish it all). Raina has gone potty twice very well but the last time she missed the toilet a little so poor Grandpa was on clean up. So grandma is happy, but grandpa has had a hard day. It's tummy time now and as soon as they start to nap, grandma is going to try to get her portfolio turned in....maybe hurray!!!
Liam and Raina both took good naps and grandma went to turn in her portfolio
Liam had 6 oz at 4 and gulped them down! Raina had oj and crackers at 4
Now Raina has pooped her pants only a scant 5 minutes after going potty quite well. Rats~
Liam is content in his little moblile think. Grandpa has batteries in it now so there are some weird noises.

August 31--last day of the month! Liam arrived about 8:30 and pooped and played on tummy for a long while. He ate a big bowl of cereal flavored with pears and about 4 or 5 oz of formula. He was ready for his nap and was down about 10. Raina arrive back from orientation at 10:15. She had a good time and played with a tea set and other children. Teachers are Miss Paine and Miss Ivy???? At least that's what grandpa said. There are lots of papers to fill out. Asked to go potty and someone help her!! Of course, she got going home with grandpa and pooped her pants...but she was good at school...Hurray!! She's so cute playing now.
Raina ate a huge lunch...corn on the cob, mac and cheese, cantalope and milk. For a snack after she got home, she ate almost a whole banana. Liam also was a big eater...the rest of his pears and half a mixed veggie and 6 oz of milk. Then a little tummy time on the mat.
And then the POOP hit! She had it running down her leg and on grandpa...they were outside and it hit. She had gone twice by herself very nicely. And then Liam pooped again, so we have a load in the washer. They are both down for a nap, as we will be shortly.

Thursday...Liam arrived about 8 and had his morning bottle. So sweet to wait patiently while it was made. He definitely sounds congested but drank well and slept about 2 hours. He coughs once and a while and was restless, but did get some sleep. Grandpa fed him breakfast about 9:30 and he ate cereal and fruit well...grandpa cut the mile to 4 oz. because he had had his first bottle only an hour and a half before. Weigh in on this idea...
Picked up the St. Michael's stuff on the way back from knitting and we are shortly to hand off Liam as Grandpa is going to work at Samaratin House. We expect Jess after the dentist appointment. Hope Raina learns something! :)
Lunch for Liam was the rest of his blue applesauce cannister and about half a turkey/sweet potato. He acted like he didn't like it at first but then ate about 5 spoonfulls.

Wednesday already...the week is zooming by! Liam loved his breakfast...he ate a little early at 9:15 because he said he was really hungry. He laid down a little before 10. Raina had a great time making chocolate cookies and mixing up bread dough. She put in the margarine by herself and did lots of pouring. She wanted her own spoon and probably ate her weight in cookie dough, but that's part of baking. She also wanted a banana and ate the major part of it, and had some orange juice. Went potty by herself and washed hands. We are working on coughing into her elbow, like they say we should for flu season. Then grandpa took her off to Monkey Joe's while grandma cleans up and Liam sleeps. Quite a lot to accomplish by 10:15!!!
Liam ate carrots and bananas for lunch, about 1/2-3/4 of each and his bottle. Then he pooped big time...and then was content on his tummy mat for about a half hour. He really gets into going backwards somehow. Raina ate an apple, pb on ritz a bite of yogurt, milk, and of course another chocolate chip cookie. Both are taking long naps. They have only coughed a few times today but the cough they each have seems deep. But they are acting healthy and happy...hurray!

Tuesday...the 25th (one more month till Raina's third bd!!!)
Liam arrived shortly after 8 and had his morning bottle. Changed him into a little onsie and socks and took him to church where we painted my middle school classroom a really nice sage green. He ate breakfast in the nursery and slept in a crib across the hall. Ate lunch there too and smiled at everyone. He didn't seem to want his food at lunch. Wanted his bottle...so he only ate about half a fruit and a few bites of carrots. Came home and went down for a nap.
One bm and some waking time in a fun round toy that he loved. Seems congested but happy.

Ok scratch the last sentence. From 2:30-4 he fussed and cried. He couldn't sleep so we vaccuumed out his nose but that didn't help. I gave him some water to drink and that didn't help. So he had a bottle at 4 and is now fussing around. He has had some bad gas...and diarhea this afternoon so it may be part of his not feeling good.

Raina had juice and an apple after school and built blocks with grandpa and then put them all away without being asked...and there were a lot of blocks!! Now she is watching Little Einsteins from the Disney Channel that Seeley watches in Columbus.

Monday, August 24
Raina and Grandma went to WalMart. They had a good time and bought strawberry marshmellows because they were pink and new hair things for Grandma's house. Raina thinks Mommy will like them. Raina coughs once in a while, but did eat some lunch. Peanut butter crachers (Wheat thins) and strawberries and milk. She is having trouble (constipated) and I have a pull up on her since she keeps having those little smears. I feel sorry for her...Miralax tonight I think if she hasn't gone. We had her medicine at noon.
Liam had cereal and apple/blueberry and finished the fruit at lunch with half of corns and beans. During his tummy time he rolled over and over and "got stuck" on the mat...he seems to feel good, took a long nap this morning.

Oops...scratch the Miralax. We just had the world's largest...lots of pain and struggle to get it out, but she did so now she is starting her nap. Then at 10 we went to the library...no program, but played on the computers a really good toddler thing with Elmo where she wiggled the mouse around to erase the wrapping on presents. She was dismayed to find that the library lady didn't give her a present, that I forgot the juice, and that we weren't going home to mommy and the cats like we had usually done. She cried a little in the car, but soon got over all three.
She ate lots of peanut butter and crackers, milk, a whole apple, and a brownie for lunch, played on the computer with grandpa, and slep for a couple hours.
Liam drank morning bottle, cereal mixed with bananas and breakfast bottle, slept over 2 hours in his new crib, and had bottle, rest of the bananas and a few spoonfuls of green beans. He pretty much spit them back at me. He slept almost 2 hours this afternoon and is riling for another bottle before dad comes to get him...4 o'clock bottle and then time for a walk I think.
Each pooped today (Raina in her diaper) but Raina was dry during her nap so we put on Cinderella panties after her nap.

Thursday....Liam and Grandpa were on their own this morning while grandma was at prayer time and knitting. Carrots mixed with cereal, the rest of the bananas and a spoonful of peas (he doesn't seem to like them) and 7 oz. of formula. Then up playing back and tummy until about 1:30. He slept until 3:30, had a 6 oz bottle at 4:30. One bowel movement right after lunch. Raina came home from school and went to pick grapes with Grandpa at a friend's house. Liam and Raina arrived at about 8:15. Raina had strawberries, blueberries, Quaker Oat Squares with milk and a little toast and finished off her juice from home, plus a little more. Liam guzzled his accompanying bottle.
Laim then played on the floor, making all kinds of noises and never really rolling over, but going from side to side. At one point he grabbed a little rattle type toy and put it in his mouth (lucky?). Raina did a little computer ABC and Fireman Sam and then was off to the zoo. Liam ate rice cereal mixed with pears and formula and then took about 6 more oz. He had one wet diaper change and then went down for his nap at about 10:15.
Up at about 12:10 and lunch at 12:30. He ate the rest of the pears from breakfast and then had about 1/3 portion carrots thickened with rice cereal to make it less messy. I also tried to hold his right hand so he didn't stick it in his mouth with the food...
Raina and Grandpa were back about 1. Lunch at Mcdonald's after play time outside the zoo. A paper bag cow seems to be the hit of the morning. Petted a chicken?
Liam had 2 bm around lunch time.
Both down for naps about 1:45.
Both slept about 2 hours. Raina had a watermelon snack when she woke up. Liam got very fussy so I gave him 6 oz. of formula which settled him down ( about 4:30) I didn't think he was going to make it to dinnertime. He had a messy bm about 4:55.
Dad came at 5 and kids went out to play.

August 18--Liam slept soundly until 12:30
Lunch was corn and sweet potato--whole jar---and a few teaspoons of peas. Then he drank about 5 oz. of milk and seemed ready to quit so we didn't force it. She helped get Liam situated in his chair, placed the roses they had brought, and then went to the bathroom all by herself.
9:30 Liam sat in his new high chair for rice cereal mixed with pears. He drank about 6 oz also. One b.m. diaper changed. Raina watched one Dora while he ate and then we all three watched about 10 minutes of Sesame Street.
10:30 Liam went down for his nap and Raina and I baked bread. We are doing brownies when Grandpa brings home the eggs :( Raina drank one apple juice packet.
11:15 Raina went to the bathroom alone...unasked.
Shortly thereafter Liam woke up from his nap, all happy and grinning
12:00 Raina was hungry for watermelon (lots) and had half a portion of mac and cheese and a whole apple. She also drank a whole kiddy cup of skimmed milk (Grandpa is bringing a little home when he comes, so don't worry.)
Liam had about 7 oz. and a bite of peas (he spit them out twice) and almost all the rest of the pears. He really loves his pears and got his hands in them too. He had another mb during lunch so we interrupted to change.
12:30Raina watched one segment of Thomas and then went to the bathroom alone. She just said, "Grandma, I'm going to the potty," and went alone. (I'm so encouraged!)
1:00 We're all playing in the computer room...Liam getting in some tummy time.
Liam slept about 3 hours ( 1:45-4:45)
Raina slept from about 3 to 4:30. She pooped in the potty!!!! Wet the bed, but I think we do need to diaper for the nap if she's been drinking a lot (and the watermelon IS a lot)
Watched Little Einstein till Mommy came home. Liam sat on the porch and watched the world!!
